Turnframe

Privacy

Made here. Kept here.

Privacy isn't a setting in Turnframe; it's how the app is built. Models run on your computer, and what you make is encrypted on your own disk.

What stays on your computer

Everything you make

Chats, prompts, images, video, memories and projects are encrypted on your disk and unreadable to anything but Turnframe.

Your password

Lock Turnframe with a password only you know. It never uses your system keychain, and locking clears the key from memory.

Your taste

Recommendations and memories are worked out by a small model inside the app. No profile of you is built anywhere else.

Protected projects

Lock a project or a single chat separately. Its memories never leak into other projects.

Your phone connection

The phone app talks directly to your computer over an encrypted connection that accepts only phones you've paired. No relay, no cloud.

The few times it goes online

Turnframe connects to the internet only for things you can see: searching model catalogs and downloading the models you choose. Once a day it may also fetch a signed note saying whether a new version is out. Searches never include your chats or memories.

If you choose to connect an outside chat service, Turnframe tells you what that service will receive before it's used.

There is no account, no analytics and no advertising. The encryption details are XChaCha20-Poly1305 for stored data and Argon2id for your password, and the full privacy notice will be published with the release.
